The forests I paint bring my Russia back to me, however far she is from me today. Her dense plains harbor a special charm, like that which is found in fairy tales, legends and ancient stories.
I see the forests as sources of vital energy, kind and generous in giving us their fruits, their shadows, the beauty of their colors, and the oxygen for life.
I create these paintings from memory, from the effect and feeling that those magical places that accompanied me in my childhood have left on me.
